Imagine if we could make all the materials we use from biomass and waste. Imagine if we could make the entire field of chemistry go green. Wouldn't that be amazing? BioBTX has developed the technology to do exactly that. The problem is that we need a lot of high-quality materials to make our society function properly. Think, for instance, of strong lightweight materials for cars and aircraft and, of course, the blades for wind turbines to generate renewable energy. All these materials are made by the chemical industry and, unfortunately, they are doing so from fossil resources. Therefore, all these materials now have a big impact on the environment. BioBTX has developed technology to sustainably make all these high-quality materials. We convert waste into chemical building blocks and from these chemical building blocks you can sustainably produce all existing materials. Fortunately, we are currently scaling up our technology to a commercial factory that we are going to build in Delfzijl, and that means that in a few years' time, you may well be running a lap on shoes that are made from waste.
