Did you know that gold can help to clean up the world? It can act as a catalyst, converting pollutants such as car exhaust fumes into cleaner substances. It is particularly interesting for this purpose because it can perform this conversion for a very long time without breaking down or changing itself. Unfortunately, these conversions are very slow. This is why I am investigating whether using lots of small gold balls instead of one large gold ball could speed up the process. Proportionally, we now have much more surface area available to convert pollutants with the same weight of gold. With more surface area available, we can convert more pollutants much faster. This enables us to clean up the world and use expensive materials much more efficiently. And that's what I call a golden opportunity!
